Telecommunications Network Consultant
The selected candidate will have a broad understanding of large-scale telecommunications networks in order to provide assessments and recommendations on siting and connectivity for a data center. The candidate should have an understanding of the management and operations of a telecommunications system/network. The selected candidate should also have an understanding of country specific and regional issues and opportunities for development.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Managing all aspects of new installations to include site and equipment selection
- Assist in data center designs that take into account the need for redundancy, fault tolerance and rapid recovery for local and international connectivity
- Conducts site surveys and assessments and prepares physical and logical diagrams for recommended and efficient installations
- Apply familiarity with home country telecommunications network infrastructure
- Familiarity with provisioning and configuration of transmission equipment for home country networks
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must have management experience and a College degree in related field, preferably a B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Telecommunications with a minimum 7 years experience with voice and/or data telecommunications, or combined equivalent education and work experience. The candidate must be detail oriented and able to work under compressed time schedules. The candidate should be able to work independently and as part of a team.
